CA3080E Description
The CA3080 is Gatable-Gain Blocks that utilize the distinctive 2MHz operational -transconductance amplifier (OTA) idea represented in Application note AN6668, “ Applications of the CA3080 and CA3080A High Performance Operational Transconductance Amplifiers “. It has a differential input , a single-ended, push-pull as well as class A output. Applications
· Sample and Hold: The CA3080E is employed in sample and hold circuit. The sample and hold circuit is an electronic circuit which creates the samples of the voltage given to it as an input , and then , it holds these samples for the definite time. The time throughout which sample and hold circuit generates the sample of the input signal is termed as Sampling time.
· Multiplier: A multiplier is a combinational logic circuit that can be utilize for multiplying binary digits.
· Multiplexer: The availability of the bias current terminal, IABC , permits the device to be gated for its applications. Below figure shows a simple two-channel multiplexer system using two CA3080 OTA devices. The most level-shift from input to output is low (Which is approximately 5mV for the CA3080). This shift is set by the amplifier input offset voltage of the particular device used, as a result of the open-loop gain of the system is usually 100dB while the loading on the output of CA3080A is low. To additional increase the gain and minimize the effects of loading, an extra buffer and/or gain-stage may be added.
· Comparator: A comparator circuit compares two voltages and outputs either a one or a zero to mention which is larger. Comparators are sometimes used to check whether an input has reached some predetermined value or not.
· Voltage Follower: Voltage follower is employed to provide high impedance (of several M?) at input so less current is drawn from the circuit. The voltage across load equals to input voltage as gain is unity. With no voltage follower the voltage at load is going to be very less compared to input voltage.
